| Bio: | I'm not one of the most exciting or interesting folks on the planet, but here are a few of the things that catch my fancy. I am a falconer, that is I train hawks for hunting; I have been playing the great highland bagpipe since I was 7 years of age, today I play scottish small pipes and I also make scottish small pipes as well as other bagpipe types. I've also recently taken to making stringed instruments. Making pipes and strings is taking up quite a bit of my time of late. I have the writer's disease, that is I must type out copious amounts of hopefully coherent words and then force them on the unsuspecting to read. I rather enjoy that one. :) Primarily I write space opera and urban fantasy. Related to it, I write and run a variety of role playing games, including some of my own design. I do however prefer to play rather than GM. I also study and teach german style medieval longsword and the english quarterstaff; have been involved in the society for creative anachronism (sca) since 1980 and hold a Jambe de Lion, mainly for my pipe making. I hold a private pilot's license, though be honest, it's lapsed; very expensive as a hobby. I used to run and write a local larp and was involved with the IFGS at one point. I'm Wiccan, m'lady and I have been active in the craft since before our marriage and raised our daughter in it. And most importantly, I have been happily married since 1985. OH, and my pet peave is after starting off on bulletine board systems years ago, at the rock'n speed of 300 baud (you can type faster than that btw) with the handle of Shadowhawk, having used it as my C.B. radio handle before that in the '70's; I can't ruddy find a place that will let my log on with my own handle anymore becouse kids have appropriated it! Entirely unreasonable, but what the heck, it is MY peave. So... I used the name of a favorite rpg character from years ago. So as I said, not the most interesting or exciting fellow. | ||||||||||
